Inequalities

If you have had problems solving any 1-Step or 2-Step equations, return to the Equation section in Beyond Basis. Once there, redo all the movies that you are unsure about reaching the correct solution.

What are Inequalities?

An inequality is actually an equation. It is solved just like an equation, except it has no exact answer. Instead many numbers will satisify the inequality.
For this reason the answers on a inequality are plotted on a number line.

The answers are also written as a set of numbers.

Do you remember the meaning of:

> Greater than

< Less than

> Greater than or equal to

< Less than or equal to

The above are considered to be a sign of an inequality.

When solving an inequality treat it as if it is a regular equation.

Just bring down the inequality sign until you reach the end of the problem.
